Arrival Procedures at DFW Airport

For both domestic and international flyers, different post-flight procedures are conducted at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to handle passengers.

Domestic Arrivals:

• After arriving from domestic locations, passengers proceed from the gate to the terminal exit or baggage claim areas at DFW Airport.
• Usually, these areas are on Level 1 of each of the terminals at DFW Airport.
• Those with hand luggage can leave the terminal immediately after deplaning.
• Besides, checked baggage is delivered to designated carousels located in these sections.
• After confirming the correct carousel number, one can pick up the bags and exit the terminal.

International Landings:

At DFW Airport, most international flights arrive at Terminal D. However, before leaving the airport, foreign flyers must complete a few formalities here before leaving the airport.

• They must present their passports and travel documents for inspection.
• For the same, they need to go to Level 1.
• Here, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers do these inspections.
• DFW uses a color-coded wayfinding system to guide flyers to appropriate immigration processing lanes.
  • Orange: Citizens of the US and Canada, and permanent residents
  • Purple: Visa Waiver Program (ESTA)and B1/B2 visa travelers
  • Gray: Foreign visitors requiring standard CBP processing
  • Blue: Global Entry members
• Eligible flyers may use Global Entry or other expedited processing options to reduce wait times.
• Once immigration formalities are completed, they can collect their checked bags.
• Afterwards, they can undergo customs inspection.
• Finally, exit the building.
